As an oil painter I have never used cold wax. I found Andrea Wedell's course Abstracting Landscape in Oil and Cold Wax to be very informative. I have worked with oil paints for years but I never used cold wax. In this course, Andrea educates you on the basics and guides you through the process. I have gone back through the course several times to make sure I did not miss a thing. I highly recommend this short course for anyone that is a beginner or experienced painter.

I am an amateur painter who has been playing with this medium for a while. I found this course extremely useful as there are so many hints and tips. I was so enthused by the videos that I immediately went out to start new paintings in my very cold garage! I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn more about oil and cold wax. I love the way in which the course is not overly prescriptive but yet guides you in making decisions. It is excellent value for money especially compared to some other courses I have taken. I have wanted to join the live classes but the time difference never works for me (I'm in Australia). I took Andrea's self-paced online abstract composition course which was fantastic. I developed a new found love for abstract landscape and wanted to explore that more after. I work with oil and cold wax and needless to say, was absolutely thrilled to see this pop up. Lots of helpful tips for cold wax and mediums that work with it. I learned a great deal about composing abstract landscapes.
